Sunday is “Adventure Day”

Last weekend, Sunday was “ride your bike on campus and then go get pretty intoxicated day” – which is a little too much to say and a little too much too handle. So…I’m changing Sunday to “Adventure Day” – every week.

This Sunday’s adventure…………John’s tree house!

The roof blew off sometime in the past few months. John said that he spent the night there once in the middle of a thunderstorm. I haven’t seen him as excited as he was when he was telling that story in a long time. I think we both felt happy today being out on the land of our father…the land he helped to build and the land that he loved.

Our friend David went with us. See that creek? David crawled down into it. I am not so brave. Maybe when it gets warmer. John said there is a place that you can walk down the creek to that has clear water and is deep enough to swim in – can’t wait to test that one out!

Normal

Analysis….

we can’t know everything about everyone and every circumstance…

sometimes it’s good to just let it go.

We forget about ourselves…the most important part. Ego.

Freud would be proud.

Once again, I am going to test myself – let me be a recluse. It seems that giving in to other’s emotions only gets me in trouble and makes me look like an idiot. Why not just avoid that situation!? WHY? BECAUSE the situation…the human contact is fun and stimulating.

but i have neither here. so….recluse it is.

Anger Management

  • 1: I hate the way I have to do a project and take a test for my Survey of Earth Science lab midterm. It’s tomorrow. I started today. It’s the dumbest thing ever.
  • 2: I hate that I don’t get off for spring break. Super lame. I’m used to it.
  • 3: I hate….being hateful!

SO…therefore…here are some things that I LOVE!

  • 1. Danny and Staton were in town. Most of all I love this. I haven’t been that happy in since the last time they were here. I miss them.
  • 2. At least I have two days over spring break when I don’t have school OR work. Nice.
  • 3. If I take summer school…and take like 18 hours (by the way…neither of those things will happen but the thought of this makes me happy) I could graduate next MAY! Maybe I’ll get a motivation overload and just go for it. Honestly…if money wasn’t the issue I would totally go for it. But a girl has to work for a living…it isn’t easy being an art student and working and going to lawyers every day.
  • painting. PAINTING. PAINTING. And even though I’m tired of looking at the same painting I’m working on over, and over, and OVER – I would still much rather paint than do most things. Love it!

Pumped About Painting

WOAH. I’m going to post a photo of my FIRST watercolor (probably tomorrow). It’s okay…but I learned some new things (from the best art professor EVER) that could have made it awesome. That’s why it’s time for MORE PAINT! It’s a process of growing.

Things I’m not pumped about

  • writing a paper on an art gallery
  • doing the mid-term project for my Earth Science Lab
  • studying for my Art History II test tomorrow
  • going to Gallery Management tonight

I’m so inspired right now. I think I’ll just put this computer away and go to Watercolorland…yup.

R.I.P. Bea Dog

year of death….

Aunt Bea (named by my dad after “The Andy Griffith Show”, aka “Bea”) died today. Stream of death….never-ending.

Bea was my dog…a very good dog. She lived a long (13 years), happy life…and she was loved.

Once we took a trip to the beach house and Dad didn’t want to take Bea along, but my brothers and I were determined to have her there. So…we put her in the back of the Suburban and covered her with towels. Dad didn’t realize she was there until about four and 1/2 hours into the five hour drive :)

She also loved to run with the horses out at the ranch where me and my Mom used to ride.

Loved that dog hard…will always love and remember her.

Tiresome Tuesday’s

Don’t you think that would be a good name for a band? “Mary and the Tiresome Tuesday’s, live and uncensored”

Tuesday’s make me so tired…but not as tired as Thursday’s make me feel. AT LEAST on Tuesday’s I don’t have night class so I can enjoy a few good beers after a long day (worse than Monday…trust me)

I wanted to make sushi tonight. I’ve been thinking about it for a week now, and since I had a painting due today and last week was super lame I thought tonight would be the night. I didn’t want to go eat sushi alone, and everyone I called was busy, so I decided to make it myself. I’ve done it before and it turned out pretty tasty (tuna rolls!). However, the little Japanese grocery store I used to go to is closed now. So…ever tried to make sushi? Ever tried to buy seaweed – in small town Mississippi? Ummm……………..not a very easy scavenger hunt, although I’ll admit I didn’t try that hard.

And THIS is what happens if you go to Kroger looking for some kind of sushi “kit” on Tuesday afternoon: sexual harassment folks.

Mary: (walks through the frozen food section, turns the corner and hears…)

Group of boys: “Damnnnnnn baby”

Mary: (ignores stupid boys….strolls down another aisle, turns the corner and then…)

Group of boys: “Damn girl, fo’ real”

Mary: (ignores again. goes to checkout line, group of idiots following)

Boys: Hey, so….do you have a boyfriend? Etc, etc, Can I get your number? etc, etc, Do you need any help punching those numbers? etc, etc.

Mary: NO NO NO NO NO NO NO…(rush out of store to car and escape!)

Jesus…who tries to pick up girls in the grocery store? Honestly. On that note, I’m going to have another drink :) Happy Tuesday.

Bagel Rant

“Do you guys, like, put cheese on like, turkey?”

…that question isn’t even worth answering.

So, Kent’s roommates always come in fifteen minutes before we close and they are the equivalent of “ass cheese”. Kent…now you can tell your roommate I blogged about him.

I wish I knew where that woman who calls cream cheese “that spread” and “sour cream” and “sauce” lived. I would send her a gigantic tub of cream cheese with “CREAM CHEESE” written five million times on the box.

I also wish that a certain someone would not bring in their greasy ass biscuit-thing and ask me to toast it with butter and add two eggs. You…whoever you are…if you want a biscuit A) go to McDonalds or B) cook that shit at home.

bagel rant to be continued…

Zero on the “Fun Scale”

c’est la vie d’une fille

I am trying to have a little fun in my life and no one wants me to. So I agree to your terms and conditions…I agree not to have fun.

But only for a limited time…

I don’t have enough money to go to Coney Island or Amsterdam and I’m sad. :(

I NEED TO SELL SOME PAINTINGS, DAMNIT!

Acrylic Nails

Me + Amanda + (hopefully) Sarah are going to Coney Island…FINALLY!

I’m going to pack all of the skankiest shit I can think of – big hair wigs, sleezy animal print clothes and cut-offs, and I’m gettin’ my nails done…long and acrylic!

And if Sarah goes, we’re going to meet the Jersey Shore boys…haha

Can’t wait!
